DJ Johnny Fingers (John Arroyo) grew up in Dallas, Texas listening to electro, punk, and hip-hop. By High School he had been turned onto funky breaks, techno then house music. Through some DJ friends and various raves (like the hazy daze parties) his listening and DJ focus shifted to deep, Chicago, & acid house. By the time he graduated High School he had already DJ’ed at cool lounges, clubs and raves in Dallas. |
| From Tejas he moved to Pittsburgh for college. After a few years he became the most requested DJ on campus. He was spinning once or twice a week at various house parties, gallery openings, clubs & even the occasional rave. Studying and making music music in Pittsburgh was a blast for Fingers. He got to really experiment with sound and controlling the dance floor. His work in Pittsburgh also greatly influenced the wackier side of his spinning and productions. |  |
| He moved to New York City in early 2001. It become his new home and scene to throw down beats. He’s spun at numerous lounges, clubs & bars in the city and has been spinning amongst some of NYC’s finest talent. Along with spinning in NY and the US, he has had the opportunity to spin on many occasions in Europe. | |
| Along with his DJn and dance music productions he has been involved with the NY art scene. Fingers’ completed musical compositions for a conceptual art piece called Vagamundo, created by Visual/Media Artist Ricardo Miranda. Vagamundo has traveled to LA, Chicago and, of course, NYC. One of his current artsy project is a collaboration with the Choreographer Stephanie Sleeper. Their just show opened and was received with open arms!
